Nelson Mandela once said: "A good head and a good heart are a formidable combination.” Every year, on the anniversary of his birthday, 18th July, the world celebrates Mandela Day. It is not meant as just a public holiday, but a day to honour the legacy of the great man, and his values, through volunteering and community service. Mandela Day is a global call to action that imparts the idea that every individual can contribute to the collective, to make a positive impact to the world. Sika South Africa rose to the occasion, and this time we celebrated by aiding Bridges of Hope.

Sika donates to Bridges of Hope for children for Nelson Mandela Day 2022.

The Bridges of Hope for children, was born out of the need to stand in the gap for children in crisis, specifically those with special needs. They work together with their communities to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable and provide accommodation in a family environment for special needs adults. Their Facebook page reads: "Every child is welcomed into our family as my child, and as a brother or sister.” Bridges of Hope also actively support and assist the nearby community with food, clothes, and other necessities.

Sika South Africa was able to hand over a multitude of items that included: medical supplies, groceries, clothes, toys and toiletries. It was our hope that we, as their Sika family, and in the spirit of the day, could support their bridge a little more, so they could keep helping others.
