CONVENTIONAL MECHANICAL FIXINGS ARE being increasingly replaced by chemical anchors, which use resin adhesives to bond steel or other fixings into holes drilled in the hardened concrete. These chemical resin anchors can have considerable advantages over mechanical anchors including that they are easy to adapt to different anchor sizes (length and diameter), suitable for different types of anchor, fixing or bars; plus they impart less stress to the substrate during installation and transfer the load more evenly in service.
