Viscosity Modifying Admixtures

Concrete placement characteristics are a function of the design and proportioning of cement paste, aggregates, and chemical admixtures. During scenarios such as pumping or placement underwater, the paste viscosity is an especially critical performance factor. The use of a viscosity modifying admixture (VMA) increases the cohesiveness of concrete, thereby reducing the risk of segregation.
