Sikagard®-703 W is an emulsion, ready for use, silane / siloxane combination based, water repellent impregnation.

Usage

For making facades water repellent and protecting building against water ingress. Sikagard®-703 W can be applied on mortar, masonry, brick, stone, asbestos cement.

Waiting Time / Overcoating

Can be overcoated with water and solvent based polymer paints - contact the paint manufacturer for details.For overcoating with Sikagard®, SikaColor® Emulsion or solvent based coating, wait at least 5 hours after the hydrophobic impregnation.

Dependent on substrate porosity:On mortar: ~ 150–200 g/m2On other porous materials: ~ 300–500 g/m2 (A test is necessary to determine the exact consumption).
Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

Clean, sound, free of dust, dirt, oils and grease, efflorescence and old paint coatings etc.Cracks of more than 300 μm must be repaired first prior to carry out the hydrophobic treatment.Cleaning should be done with suitable detergent or by light steam or blast cleaning.Best results are obtained on dry, very absorbent substrates – allow enough time for the substrate to dry out after surface preparation. The substrate must look dry with no damp patches.

APPLICATION

Sikagard®-703 W is applied with a conventional low pressure spray, brush or roller, in various passes wet on wet from bottom up taking care not to let the product run until saturation of the substrate is reached.

CURING TREATMENT

Sikagard®-703 W does not require special curing but must be protected from rain for at least 3 hours at +20 °C.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use.Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
