Sika® Stabilizer-40

Concrete Cohesion Promoter

Sika® Stabilizer 40 is specially developed for SCC (self-compacting concrete) or standard concrete where improved stability is required during transportation and placement.

Usage

Sika® Stabilizer 40 is used to increase the cohesiveness of high slump type concrete. It enables concrete to flow easily through confined spaces without segregation and bleeding.

Technical Information

Concrete Mixing Time

Sika Stabilizer 40 can be added at the plant or on site. When added at the plant Sika Stabilizer 40 should be added with the mixing water and should on no account be added to dry cement. When added on site, once Sika Stabilizer 40 has been added, the mixer trucks should rotate their drums at maximum revolutions for a minimum of 1 minute per m³ or a minimum of 5 minutes to achieve a uniform mix.

Sika Stabilizer 40 can be used in conjunction with the following Sika products (trials are recommended before use):

  • Plastiment BV40

There may be a slight decrease in slump or spread when using Sika Stabilizer 40. This may require an increase of HRWR.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.1 ‐ 2.0% of Cement weight. For optimum dosage site trials are recommended.
