If mixing with cement in place of the tile adhesive, Sika suggests that a Portland cement is used

10 litres of SikaCeram® Primer ZA per 20kg Tile adhesive
Application steps

MIXING

Measure the required quantity of SikaCeram® Primer ZA into a clean mixing container. Using a suitable mechanical mixer and paddle, add the SikaCeram® tile adhesive (e.g SikaCeram®-50 Ceramic) to the SikaCeram® Primer ZA. Mix well until a smooth lump-free liquid is obtained. Let the mix stand for 3-5minutes before stirring again. Use within 60 minutes.

Do not add additional water if slurry starts to lose its workability, but rather make a fresh batch.

APPLICATION

Pre-dampen the substrate and allow to surface dry, before applying the SikaCeram® Primer ZA slurry.

Apply the SikaCeram® Primer ZA slurry using a builders block brush, ensuring that the entire surface is fully covered with the priming coat. Using a stippling action, initially work the slurry into the surface, to ensure that all imperfections are filled and wetted out. Do not over apply the slurry, but ensure that it is a thin even coat that covers all areas of the substrate.

On poor or porous surfaces, it may be required to apply a second application to ensure a good film coverage of the entire floor surface area.

Allow the SikaCeram® Primer ZA slurry coat coat to dry for approx. 4-6 hours before applying the tile adhesive, depending on the ambient conditions.

Ensure that gloves and protective glasses are used during mixing and application

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools tools and application equipment with clean water immeadiately after use. Cured material can onlt be removed mechanically.

Ensure that gloves and protective eye ware are always used.
