Sika® UCS-01 ZA

Stabiliser for Concrete and Grouts

Sika® UCS-01 ZA is a concrete and grouts admixture containing alkali resistant stabilisers used to create thixotropic anti-bleed properties in concrete and mortars. Sika®-UCS Powder prevents the washout of cements and binders in water bearing ground conditions or underwater applications.

Sika® UCS-01 ZA added to a concrete or grout has the following characteristics and advantages:
  • Greatly increased cohesion within the cement paste
  • Increased adhesion of the cement paste with the aggregates
  • Reduced bleed and segregation
  • Excellent anti-washout properties
  • Does not contain chlorides nor does it attack the reinforcement

Usage

Sika® UCS-01 ZA can be used in grouts or concrete in the following applications:
  • Placement of concrete underwater
  • Pumping of grouts underwater
  • Anti-bleed agent.

12 months from date of production if stored in original unopened, undamaged sealed containers.

Technical Information

Specific Advice

For underwater concrete a minimum of 300kg/m3 cement is required.

Sika® UCS-01 ZA in contact with water forms a slippery topping – Take note.

Concrete Mixing Time

The powder should be distributed onto the dry aggregates or cement. Thorough mixing is essential and mixing times are normally 50% longer than for similar mixes without Sika® UCS-01 ZA.

Consumption

Recommended Dosage

Concrete:
The correct dosage must be determined by preliminary testing. Dosage is between 1.0% and 1.7% by weight of cementitious.

Add the UCS-01 ZA to a dry cement – sand – aggregate mix only.
Grouts/Cement-Injection
The correct dosage must be determined by preliminary testing. Dosage is between 0.2% and 0.5% by weight of cementitious.
The following Sika® products are generally used for the basic concrete and grout mixes:
- Sika® ViscoCrete-10
- Sika® ViscoCrete-3088
- Sikament-NN
