Sika ViscoFlow®-25 ZA

Workability Enhancing admixture

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA is a workability enhancing admixture for concrete based on Sikas PCE technology. Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA extends the workability time without a negative effect on early strength development.

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA works based on a combination of electrostatic adsorption and steric repulsion effects. Thus, solid particles can be effectively dispersed and a high level of fluidity can be reached with less water. As a result, Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA can provide higher workability time and stability than conventional dispersants.

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA does not contain chlorides or any other ingredients which promote the corrosion of steel. It is therefore suitable for use in reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.

Usage

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA is especially suitable for concrete mixes with extended workability requirements as well as improved flow characteristics.
Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA is mainly used for the following applications:
  • Any concrete in hot/cold weather with extended transportation and workability time.
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications with high or low water / cement ratio and/or high or low environment temperatures
  • Define the workability time based on project requirements without a negative effect on early strength development

Compatibility

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA may be combined with many other Sika Products.

Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact our Technical Service Department for information and advice about any specific combinations.

Dispensing

Sika® ViscoFlow® -25 ZA is added to the gauging water or added with it into the concrete mixer.
To take advantage of the workability enhancing ability, a wet mixing time, which is depending on the mixing conditions and mixer performance, of at least 60 seconds is recommended.
To avoid excess water in the concrete, the final dosage must begin only after 2/3 of the wet mixing time.
