SikaPump® Start-1

The long chained organic molecules of SikaPump® Start-1 in contact with water produce a “greasy” film which lubricates the walls of the pump, pipes and hoses and thus facilitates trouble free pump starting.

Technical Information

Specific Advice

The content of one bag of SikaPump® Start-1 is placed in the hopper of the concrete pump and mixed with approx. 30 litres of water. As soon as this mix assumes a “greasy” condition the pumping process can be started. The initial batch of concrete has to be placed in the hopper slowly to ensure that the SikaPump® Start-1 advance mix enters the conveying pipe before the concrete.

Recommended Dosage

1 bag SikaPump® Start-1 dissolved in 30 L water - dependent on the diameter of the conveying pipe - is sufficient for the following pump pipe lengths:

  • Diam. 65 mm: ~ 50 m
  • Diam. 100 mm: ~ 40 m
  • Diam. 125 mm: ~ 30 m
